Natural Phenomenon

Circumhorizontal Arc

A Circumhorizontal Arc

A circumhorizontal arc is an optical phenomenon - an ice-halo formed by the refraction of sun- or moonlight in plate-shaped ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere, typically in cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. In its full form, the arc has the appearance of a large, brightly spectrum-coloured band running parallel to the horizon, located below the Sun or Moon. It can be caused by the Sun as well as (but much more rarely) by the Moon.

Other currently accepted names for the circumhorizontal arc are circumhorizon arc or lower symmetric 46° plate arc. The misleading term "fire rainbow" is sometimes used to describe this phenomenon, although it is neither a rainbow, nor related in any way to fire. The term, apparently coined in 2006, may originate in the occasional appearance of the arc as "flames" in the sky, when it occurs in fragmentary cirrus clouds.

MT PAI

On the 23th and 24th of January, I joined the closing of MT PAI activity. The activity itself was held by the members and graduated students from DKM Al-Furqan for the 10th grade students. The activity was held at Kiarapayung Camping Ground. Yes, we the activity is in the form of camping.

I joined the activity as the leader of the division that makes the concept of the activity together with the graduated students. During the preparation until the day the event started, all the members of DKM AF was very busy, especially my division and the field division. In a short time of preparation, I have to make a two days camping activity concept. It was very difficult, but gratefully it can be finished a few days before the activity started.

At the camping, we did some games and performance. On the first day, the participants must cook the food for their dinner, build heir tent, and at night they eat together and finally having a session with Kang Dito. Before midnight, the participants go to sleep. But some of us didn't. We make a campfire, sit around it, and singing together until Shubuh. Yes, some of us didn't sleep that day, including me.

On the next day, we played some games with the students. But before the game started, each class must do a performance in front of every participants. And the game finally started. The game was held until noon. And after we pray Dzuhur, we went back to school. After arrived at school, the last session is started. The closing was held at the Mosque, where the participants met their parents.

I'm very satisfied with the result of the event, even the preparation wasn't really good. Anyway, our hard work is finally paid of.

Another Holiday

It's finally holiday again! After a long waiting and studying and having a lot of business either in organization or extra curricular, I finally got time for rest and keeping school out of my mind. This holiday is somehow special. First, I have 3 weeks of holiday! What a long time to spent. And second, my family will spent the holiday in Bandung, so I can spent my time with my family and my uncle and aunt's family together.

I spent the first two weeks of my holiday in my grandmother's house. It's been a while since I went there. It's because my grandmother already passed away, so my mother's family rarely reunite at Ramadhan and another holiday. I spent my day by playing with my brother and sister, picking mango fruit from its tree; which I already did for years since there's a big mango tree at my grandmother's garden, walking around the village, and perhaps most of the time I just lay in my bed. Even if it looks like a boring routine, it feels really good that I don't need to be worried about school and just do whatever I want. And the most important, I can spend my time with my family; which I've already looked forward to do for months.

After two weeks, I went back to Bandung and spent the rest of my holiday by going to some popular vacation places with my big family. I also went to school a few times to meet my friends.

Finally the holiday is over. My family went back home and I have to get prepared to get back to school.
